Short answer: yes, on most Simline plans, in most countries. The longer answer comes down to how the underlying carrier flags 'tethering' traffic.
How tethering detection works
Carriers inspect the TTL (time-to-live) field on outbound packets. Phones tend to send 64; laptops tend to send 128. Some carriers slow down or block traffic when they see laptop TTL on a phone plan. Most travel eSIM providers — including Simline — work around this on the carrier agreement side, but a few networks are stricter than others.
What to do if your tether is slow
- Toggle airplane mode on, wait 5 seconds, off — re-registers the eSIM on the network.
- Turn Personal Hotspot off and on under Settings.
- Try a different access point name (APN) in the Simline app.
